The Combined Harpole Charitable Trust (CHCT) was formed in 2014 to join together the Harpole Charities and the Harpole Free School Foundation and to continue the work of
these long-established village charities.
The Trust exists for the benefit of those living in the civil parish of Harpole (Northamptonshire). The objectives of the charity are to relieve those in needy circumstances by reason
of financial hardship or health, social or economic circumstances, and also to
advance education and improve educational facilities particularly for children
and young people.
The Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the Charity Commission (number 1157663). Reports to the Charity Commission, including the latest accounts, are up to
date and may be seen on the Charity Commission’s website.
The Trustees of the charity are: Allan Leroy (chair), Sarah Eason (secretary), Sonja Roberts (treasurer), Mary Burt, Jeremy Calderwood, Roger Fountain, Maxine Jones and Frank Smethers.
The Trust’s website can be found at www.harpoletrust.co.uk
The income for the Trust came originally from the rental of land for agricultural use. This land is bounded by the Nobottle Road and Sandy Lane North. The Trustees were approached 10 years
ago with an offer to buy the land for housing development. Part of the land has now been sold and the Trust has received payment. The details are in the annual report and can be found at www.harpoletrust.co.uk . The Trustees are taking professional advice about managing the proceeds of the land sale.
The Trust is now more able to give support according to the objectives as described above. In particular, the Trustees are aware that some residents of the village are very concerned about
how they will pay their energy bills this winter. Therefore, grants will be available for those in need, depending on their circumstances. Application forms for these grants will be available on our website and also on the book trolley at the back of All Saints’ Church. The closing date for applications will be 2nd December 2022.
The application form for other grants can be found here.
